The Seismic Protection Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations detected a magnitude 4.5 earthquake on the border area of Azerbaijan and Russia on Saturday, at 11:35am local time (GMT 7:35am).
The earthquake struck 12 km northeast of the Azerbaijani city of Zaqatala at a depth of 10km.
The tremor measured magnitude 6 points at the epicenter.
The jolts were also felt in Noyemberyan town of Armenia’s Tavush Province with magnitude 2 points.
