Bright and interesting: Opening ceremony of Pan-Armenian Games in Stepanakert
 

 
Thousands of fans and participants took part and enjoyed the opening ceremony of the 7th Pan-Armenian Games in Stepanakert. More than 5000 athletes from 161 cities of the world will compete for the title of the best until August 17.
 
They were present at the opening ceremony, which lasted for more than 3 hours. It consisted of several parts: first pre-Christian period was presented, then the Christian period, invention of the alphabet, Battles of Avarayr, Sardarabad and Artsakh.
 
The parade started with Artsakh cities and athletes from Yerevan appeared at the end. Let us remind that the teams from Dubai and Baghdad will participate in the competition for the first time. The majority of the athletes represent Yerevan.
 
The flag of the games was carried by popular athletes, Olympic and World champions Israel Militosyan, Nazik Avdalyan, Arevik Karapetyan, Tigran Martirosyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, Aram Margaryan and Mavrik Nasibyan.
 
The flame at Stepan Shahumyan Stadium was lighted by Olympic champion Hrachya Petikyan, Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Archbishop Pargev, Pan-Armenian Games Committee Deputy Chairman Albert Boyajian.
 
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan and Pan-Armenian Games World Committee Chairman Ishkhan Zakaryan delivered speeches at the event. They congratulated the participants and noted that this is the best way of being united.
