“Inheritance”. The authors of the eavesdropping and its recording must be found and brought to justice

The “Heritage” party expresses its concern regarding the illegal wiretapping and publication of the recording of the telephone conversation between the director of the National Security Service and the head of the National Security Service. This proves once again that the KGB/KGB forces, a sad legacy of the Soviet Union, continue to operate in Armenia, whose activities are incompatible with building a legal, democratic social order. We once again raise the problem of lustration of both the agency network of the Soviet period and the agency network illegally introduced into the party system in the recent history of Armenia or recruited from them.

“Heritage” continues to support the current government, including overcoming corruption, liberalizing the economy and anti-monopoly, in 2008. March 1 and other state abuses committed by the former authorities and bringing the culprits to justice. 

What happened also hints at the importance of radical reform of the National Security Service as the main state structure that ensures the internal and external security of the Republic of Armenia, as well as complex personnel changes in it. 

We urge the law enforcement agencies to be consistent until the end in revealing the said illegal wiretapping and bringing the culprits to justice.

 At the same time, “Heritage” calls on the relevant structures of the government to maintain maximum restraint and calmness, to refrain from such drastic actions that may contradict the principles of civil liberties, harm intra-societal solidarity and the formation of a favorable atmosphere for investments. The party reminds and insists again that the steps towards one-partyism are incompatible with the spirit and goals of the All-People’s Struggle.
