A report and explanation was received from the citizen in the main department of the fight against organized crime of the RA Police that in 2017 in the middle of August, N. Sargsyan’s security chief A. 2 employees of Petrosyan’s bodyguard forcibly kidnapped him in front of the cafe at the intersection of Tumanyan-Nalbandyan Street in Yerevan, and took him to N. The basement of Sargsyan’s residence, where they kept him against his will for several hours and beat him.

According to the report, N. was present in the said basement. Sargsyan, who threatened him with a gun, then burned different parts of his body with a gas lighter, demanding not to engage in the business of running a night club, not to rent the “Opera” club in Yerevan for this purpose, and not to carry out business activities there.

Then the above-mentioned persons took the citizen to the administrative building of the “Scania” truck service hall located in the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan, kept him there illegally for 2-3 hours, then N. Sargsyan, together with several other persons, again beat the citizen, and then demanded to inform the owner of the “Opera” club by telephone that he refuses to work in that club. N. After fulfilling Sargsyan’s demand, the citizen was released.

Bearing in mind that the factual data described above appear to contain elements of a crime, by the decision of the Prosecutor of the Specially Important Cases Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, a criminal case has been initiated in accordance with the features of Article 131, Part 2, Clauses 1, 2 and 7 of the RA Criminal Code.

The preliminary investigation was assigned to the investigative department of the RA NSS.
