Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan visited the Hexa Machinery engineering plant owned by Dustr Marianna LLC on November 6 to learn about its operations and upcoming plans.
The Ministry of Economy said the plant machines components for equipment of industrial and strategic importance and manufactures modern processing equipment, which it also supplies to other companies, taking into account the technological requirements and specific characteristics of their production processes.
“Total investment in establishing and developing the plant amounts to US$8–10 million. The plant currently employs 25 people, and the number of jobs is planned to increase to 40 upon completion of the investment programme,” the ministry said.
The minister also toured a production facility built from scratch for the production of milk sugar (lactose), where modern equipment imported from abroad is planned to be used to produce milk powder, sports nutrition products and other items.
“To expand and modernise production, the company has made use of the state leasing support programme and has also applied for a customs duty exemption,” the ministry said in a statement.
