About the Amulsar gold mine

The Amulsar gold mine is located on the border of the Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions of Armenia, near Jermuk. The project is being implemented by Lydian Armenia, a company with a 12.5% state-owned stake.

The official launch of the mine took place on October 10, 2026. Total investment in the project exceeds $750 million. Annual state budget revenues from taxes and royalties are expected to reach $120–130 million.

The project’s implementation has been accompanied for several years by protests from environmental activists and local residents concerned about the potential impact of mining on the environment and water resources in the region.
