It’s not like we were naively waiting for the court to do justice. However, considering the exhaustive speech of the lawyers, the published videos and Tsarukyan’s exceptionally dignified behavior, hundreds and thousands of citizens expected that the court would not give in to the instructions and would act according to its calling, within the framework of the law and the law, and that reason and logic would win.
However, the fact is that Tsarukyan’s detention was extended in a case where Tsarukyan is not just innocent, but he himself is the victim. In his speech in court, he emphasized that the awareness of being just gives strength to him and to all those who fight for justice. All of us should conclude that there is no “mine and yours” political prisoner. Today, the prisons of Armenia are filled with political, state, and public figures, and everyone’s efforts must be united to change this situation.
We are witnessing how two dignified representatives of the national capital, Tsarukyan and Karapetyan, today put aside their personal interest, thinking about the national, state interest. Ruben Vardanyan is doing the same in Baku, going through inhuman trials. The society should realize this reality and demand their freedom, at least in our country doing the best for it.
The prison doors must be opened. the problems of our country are too great, and the human and national capital is limited. We need unification of efforts and goals.
