Armenia’s economic development trends remain positive, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said at a joint sitting of the National Assembly’s standing committees.
“We recorded economic growth of 7.1% in 2025, while average annual GDP growth in 2021–2025 was around 7.9%. The target for that period was 7%. Economic growth has remained strong in 2026, with GDP growing by 6% in the first half of the year. Armenia will most likely rank second in the European region by this measure,” Papoyan said.
The economy minister noted that GDP in 2025 was around 54% higher than in 2017, while GDP per capita had risen to 2.4 times its previous level, reaching approximately US$9,500.
“This year, we will pass the US$10,000 threshold,” the minister said.
