US President Donald Trump has described the current congressional elections as the most important in the country’s history.

“They are the most important because we have truly made America great again,” Trump said on Fox, according to RIA Novosti.

The US president also said he would never abandon the MAGA — Make America Great Again — slogan, although he described it as somewhat outdated because of the word “again”. In his view, America is already great and respected around the world.

Americans will vote in the US midterm elections on 3 November, electing all 435 members of the House of Representatives and 35 of the Senate’s 100 members. Governors will also be elected in around 40 states.

More than 50 million US citizens have voted early in the congressional elections. Voting by post has also taken place.
