The National Assembly of Armenia has turned into a “theatre of petty mischief”, the incident that happened in the parliament was most likely a pre-planned action. Narine Dilbaryan, vice-chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia, announced this, referring to the clashes in the parliament.
According to Dilbaryan, damage to the property of the National Assembly, throwing a chair at a deputy by the NA vice president are apparently crimes. He drew attention to the fact that the actions of NA Vice President Vahagn Aleksanyan endangered the lives of deputies. “Destroying the property of the National Assembly like that and creating a direct danger to the lives of the deputies of the National Assembly. It’s a miracle that it didn’t happen to anyone. Can you imagine if that burden fell on someone?” he said.
According to Dilbaryan, what happened in the parliament was not an accidental incident. According to him, Nikol Pashinyan had already defined what kind of opposition he needed, and had formed the criteria for acting within that framework, and now the youth wing of the Communist Party has started to work. He also considered what happened in the context of the dictatorial nature of the management system, noting that such systems are characterized by the formation of different wings and subordinates.
According to him, in the current situation, the question arises as to who decides who can engage in opposition political activities, and what limits are set for the opposition’s behavior. According to Dilbaryan, what happened in the National Assembly should be considered in this wider political context, as a manifestation of the nature of the relationship between the government and the opposition and the nature of the political struggle.
