Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states may decide to temporarily suspend Armenia’s participation in the union under international law, taking into account the risks arising from Yerevan’s actions. This is stated in a report prepared by representatives of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
“According to projections, suspending Armenia’s participation in the EAEU would lead to a deterioration in the country’s economic indicators. Armenia’s total trade turnover with EAEU member states would decline by more than 55%, exports from Armenia to EAEU member states would fall by over 65%, while imports from EAEU member states would decrease by nearly half,” the document states.
Representatives of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan on the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council have presented a report examining the potential consequences of suspending the application of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union with respect to Armenia.
