Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), has declined to comment on Azerbaijan’s vandalism and destruction of Armenian churches in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

The Armenian News-NEWS.am’s reporter asked Schomaker how she assessed Azerbaijan’s actions toward the Armenian cultural heritage of Artsakh, noting that some churches were destroyed.

“I am the Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity. I’m not commenting on this issue. Thank you,” the UN official replied.
