Armenia’s Naghash Ensemble will tour North America in November 2026, with performances scheduled in 11 cities in the United States and Canada. The concert program will feature new compositions alongside selections from the ensemble’s repertoire.

Based in Yerevan and led by Armenian-American composer John Hodian, the Naghash Ensemble combines Armenian folk traditions, contemporary classical music, post-minimalism, and elements of rock and jazz. The group features three female vocalists and instrumentalists who perform on duduk, oud, dhol, and piano. Its repertoire draws inspiration from the sacred poetry of medieval Armenian writers Mkrtich Naghash and Kostandin Erznkatsi.

The ensemble has toured extensively in Europe over the past decade. Its discography began with Songs of Exile (2014), the first installment of a trilogy. The second volume, Songs of Exile, Volume II: Credos & Convictions, followed in 2016, while Songs of Exile: Lamentations & Benedictions completed the series in 2019. A live album appeared in 2021.

More recently, the ensemble released Songs of Wisdom in 2025, a studio album of compositions based on texts by 13th-century Armenian poet Kostandin Erznkatsi. The forthcoming North American tour will include material from this recording, earlier works, and previously unperformed compositions.
