Iranian, Armenian Foreign Ministers Hold Phone Talks

WANA (Oct 09) – Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday night to discuss follow-up on bilateral issues and the latest regional developments.

 

Mirzoyan, who met with Araghchi and other Iranian officials in Tehran on Monday, October 5, spoke by phone with Araghchi on Thursday night, October 8, to exchange views on following up on a number of bilateral issues and the latest developments in the region.

 

During their meeting on Monday, Araghchi had highlighted the longstanding ties between the Iranian and Armenian peoples and emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s approach of seeking to expand relations with its neighbors, particularly in the Caucasus and Central Asia.

 

He had stressed that Iran attached particular importance to its friendly and steadily growing relations with Armenia and regarded the continued strengthening of interactions and relations with the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia as a guarantee of security and peace for all countries in the region and as a means of promoting economic growth and prosperity for the peoples of the region.
