The members of the Soghomonian family
The Armenian Relief Society Central Executive Board announced that members of the Soghomonian family—Mr. and Mrs. Zohrab and Hasmig Tejirian, Mr. and Mrs. Harout and Lena Soghomonian, and Mr. and Mrs. Jirair and Houri Zakarian, together with their children— have made a generous commitment to sponsor 160 children through the ARS “Children of Fallen Heroes” program, which the family formally conveyed to the ARS Central Executive Board.
This remarkable contribution is yet another _expression_ of the Soghomonian family’s longstanding commitment to supporting the programs and mission of the Armenian Relief Society. Their continued generosity is a testament to their deep sense of national responsibility, their unwavering dedication to the Armenian people, and their strong belief in the humanitarian mission of the ARS.
“The ARS Central Executive Board extends its deepest and heartfelt gratitude to the Soghomonian family for their continued generosity and steadfast support. May God bless the Soghomonian family and their loved ones and reward their kindness and generosity many times over,” said a statement from the organization.
The ARS “Sponsor a Child” Program was initially founded in 1992 in response to the urgent need to support children who had become orphans due to both the Spitak earthquake and the Artsakh Liberation War. An annual stipend is provided to alleviate the financial challenges faced by the families caring for these children. After the 2020 Artsakh War concluded, the CEB reviewed and renamed the program “Children of Fallen Heroes.” Under this revised program, an annual stipend of $330 is allocated for the sponsorship of each child.
