Days of spiritual culture of Russia are held in Armenia. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of RA Zhanna Andreasyan and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvidkoy. They were present at the opening ceremony of the event at the Russian Drama Theater named after Stanislavsky.
As part of the Days of Spiritual Culture of Russia, the “Masters of Choral Singing” academic choir of the “Orpheos” TV and Radio Center was hosted in Armenia, which is performing for the first time in Armenia. Days of culture are held in Yerevan and Gyumri.
In her welcoming speech, the Minister of CGMS Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized that culture is one of the most important ways of mutual understanding, dialogue and exchange of human values between peoples, which gives an opportunity to value universal values. The Minister particularly emphasized the preservation and transmission of spiritual music to the generations, stressing that choral art symbolizes one of the most important missions of culture: to find the common support of mutual respect, solidarity and beauty in diversity.
“Armenia, with its centuries-old cultural and spiritual heritage, has always emphasized the strengthening of human ties through culture. Every initiative of cultural dialogue in our country is valuable, especially when it contributes to the recognition of the cultural heritage of peoples, the deepening of respect for art and the spread of humanitarian values. I am sure that the art presented in the framework of these days will be warmly received by the Armenian audience and will become another opportunity to unite around the beautiful, spiritual and creative inspiration. I wish the participants and guests of the event creative success, and the attendees spiritual upliftment, a sense of peace and enjoyment of high-art music. Let art continue to build bridges between people and cultures, and let the best values of spiritual culture serve the ideas of kindness, mutual understanding and peace,” said the minister.
Mikhail Shvidkoy, special representative of the Russian President for international cultural cooperation, also made a speech of welcome. “Masters of choral singing” academic choir is one of the oldest choral groups in Russia. The diverse program specially prepared for the Armenian concerts included the works of Russian composers, including Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninov, Pavel Chesnokov, the classics of Western music – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Charles Francois Gounod, as well as Russian and Armenian folk songs with old and modern arrangements.
