Haigazian University Art Center opened its Matossian Gallery to “Echoes of Beauty & Influence,” an exhibition by alumnus Hrant Khederlarian, on Friday, September 25.

Featuring approximately 20 mixed-media paintings, the exhibition offers a personal exploration of beauty, humanity, history, and the experiences that shape our understanding of the world. Khederlarian draws inspiration from three forms of beauty, the natural world, the courage and resilience of humanity, and art created by human hands, while also reflecting on historical figures and events that have influenced his perception of life and the world around him.

A distinctive section of the exhibition presents pencil portraits of family members, friends, and notable historical figures, bringing together the personal and the historical dimensions of the artist’s work.

Describing the exhibition as a reflection of his “subjective perception of an objective reality,” Khederlarian invites viewers to consider the beauty, struggles, achievements, and complexities that have shaped our shared human experience.

The exhibition also carries special significance for Haigazian University as Khederlarian returns to his alma mater as an exhibiting artist. Supporting alumni and creating opportunities for artistic and intellectual exchange are integral to the University’s mission.

Through “Echoes of Beauty & Influence,” Haigazian University continues to foster a space where art, history, personal experience, and community intersect.

The exhibition remains open through October 3, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., excluding Sundays.
