In 2026, Turkey, Egypt and China became the most popular countries among Russian tourists, while Thailand and Vietnam took the fourth and fifth places. Alexan Mkrtchyan, vice-president of the Alliance of Russian Travel Agencies, informed TASS about this.

In the Near Abroad, the expert mentioned the top three countries most popular among Russians: Belarus, Abkhazia and Armenia.

In the first semester of 2026, 23.3% more Russians visited Armenia than in the same period of 2025.

During the first six months of the current year, 416,743 tourists from Russia were registered, while in January-June 2025, the arrival of 338,052 tourists was recorded. The share of Russians in the total tourist flow also increased during that time, from 37.3% to 40%.

In general, 1,041,598 tourists visited the country during the reporting period, which is 14.8% more than in the first half of 2025.
