We stand for real diversification of the economy and active work with European institutions, not formal statements. In order to ensure economic stability, Armenia needs to simultaneously develop full cooperation with several international partners. Narek Karapetyan, head of the opposition “Strong Armenia” faction, announced this in a conversation with journalists on August 12.

According to him, in recent years, the volume of exports to the countries of the European Union, particularly to France, has been significantly reduced, despite the noisy statements of the authorities about the change in the foreign political vector.

“In the last 8 years, our export to France has decreased by 15%, so we need real work to improve the judicial system and institutions, not just talk about the European direction, in the conditions of the small volume of trade,” said the head of the faction of the “Strong Armenia” alliance of parties. Narek Karapetyan emphasized that the opposition intends to activate the work of the relevant committee of the parliament to help promote Armenia’s national interests on European platforms.

He also noted the need to learn the European experience in the field of public administration and institutional development. “We should take the best institutional solutions from the European system and implement them in Armenia, instead of limiting everything to political rhetoric,” he emphasized.
