Building Opportunity Through Education, A Lasting Gift for Armenia’s Future

Armenia Fund recognizes the extraordinary generosity of philanthropist Mari Keshishian, who resides in the United States, and whose $500,000 contribution will support the construction of a new preschool in Armenia, creating opportunities for young learners and strengthening the foundation of education for generations to come.

Designed to serve over 75 children, the preschool will provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where students can begin their educational journey. The project represents more than the construction of a building—it is an investment in the future of a community and in the lives of the children who will one day shape Armenia’s future.

Mari Keshishian’s remarkable contribution reflects a deep commitment to education and a belief in the transformative power of investing in young minds. Her generosity will help provide children with the resources, support, and opportunities they need during some of the most important years of their development.

“Education begins long before a child enters a classroom,” said Mari Keshishian. “It begins with opportunity. I want to help create opportunities for children and families, and I hope this gift serves as an example that encourages others to join in making a difference. Every contribution—whether large or small—has the power to change lives.”

She added, “I have complete trust in Armenia Fund and the work it does for our homeland. I look forward to seeing this preschool become a reality and witnessing the impact it will have on future generations. My hope is to leave a lasting legacy through education and to contribute to a brighter future for Armenia’s children.”

Armenia Fund expressed its profound gratitude for Mari Keshishian’s leadership and vision.

“Acts of generosity such as this create lasting change,” said Maria Mehranian, President of the Armenia Fund. “This preschool will become a place where children learn, grow, dream, and build the skills that will guide them throughout their lives. Mari Keshishian’s commitment to education is an investment not only in these children, but in Armenia’s future.”

The impact of this contribution will extend far beyond the walls of the preschool. It will be reflected in every child who enters its classrooms, every family whose future is strengthened through education, and every generation that benefits from the foundation being established today.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
