Azat Gevorgyan, the father of Karen Gevorgyan, who was considered missing in the 2020 Artsakh 44-day war, has been waiting for the 4th month for the Ministry of Justice and the Government to give him a solid answer regarding his son’s whereabouts. For 6 years, she has been fighting to get an answer from the competent authorities about her son’s whereabouts.

At the beginning of May of this year, he staged a sit-in for several days in front of the Government building, again with the same demand. And before that, on April 27, he met with Nikol Pashinyan and told him to bring his son and give it to him, because there was a war in his time and his son went missing.

Today of 168.am in a conversation with Azat Gevorgyan said that after the sit-in he met with some employees of the Ministry of Justice, they told him that they would deal with the issue and call him.

“They are doing it today and tomorrow, they haven’t called for two months. I met with Nikol Pashinyan in April, he promised to send the answers to my questions in writing, but it was from the genre of lies of the same investigator, they did not give me any answers.

I’m still waiting, at the moment I can’t come to Yerevan, but I won’t leave everything like this,” said Azat Gevorgyan.

He reminded that when he was holding a sit-in in front of the Government building in May, he was called by the Investigative Committee to talk about the problem, he did not refuse, he went, but, as usual, the meeting did not produce any results.

“Our problem is left in the air, they do not provide any solution. Whether they want it or not, they should give us a solid answer, they don’t recognize my son as a victim or missing, they don’t do anything.

I also told them that my son is neither dead nor missing, let them go and find him.

We got together with our parents, we wanted to go to the Hakari bridge, but later some of us regretted it. We went to the NSS, we said that we will go in September, I told the director of the NSS that I want to go there, I will enter Baku, solve this issue. It’s been more than a year, the director of the NSS has changed, he should have taken a step ahead of Abazyan, but he hasn’t done anything. Where are our children?” emphasized Azat Gevorgyan.

It should be noted that Karen Gevorgyan served in Hadrut, was an employee for 1.7 months, and was to be discharged after a few months.
