Argam Abrahamyan, the son of the former Prime Minister of Armenia, was detained for two months by the decision of the court in Armenia. The former mayor of Artashat and the former deputy of the National Assembly is accused of ordering the murder committed in Yerevan in 2023.

According to the RA Investigative Committee, Abrahamyan was arrested on August 8. According to the version of the investigation, he ordered the murder that took place on April 30, 2023 at the entrance of one of the buildings on Myasnikyan Avenue in the capital.

It should be noted that the dissemination of a message with highly personal details about the incident by law enforcement agencies was criticized by the RA Human Rights Defender’s Office.

HRD issued a statement, considering it unacceptable to publish data related to personal and family life within the framework of coverage of criminal proceedings.
