Verelq: Media war. Iran and Azerbaijan have imposed mutual bans

The political tension between Tehran and Baku has moved to the information field. the two countries have resorted to harsh restrictions, mutually blocking the work of each other’s leading media outlets and making national security accusations.

According to Iranian mass media, the official Tehran has included Azerbaijan’s state television channel “AzTV” in the list of “hostile media”. According to the information circulating, the basis for this decision was the publication of disinformation threatening national security, as well as the rapprochement of relations between Baku and Israel.

The situation did not go unnoticed in the neighboring state. In response to the move of the Iranian side, the authorities of Azerbaijan, in turn, recognized the activities of the Iranian “Sahar” television company and “Mehr” news agency as illegal in their territory.

The official decision of Baku also applies to the representatives of the mentioned media, whose work inside the country is banned from now on.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
