The RA Investigative Committee makes new arrests in the case of the gang beating of Avet Konjoryan, the brother of the deputy of the ruling faction. According to press reports, the multi-million dollar debt and business disagreements are at the heart of the scandalous incident.

The incident took place on July 24, after midnight, in the city of Abovyan. A group of people brutally beat Avet Konjoryan right in front of his porch. The police received the alarm about the incident the next day, after which the prepared documents were transferred to the preliminary investigation body. A criminal proceeding was initiated in the Kotayk Regional Investigation Department with the characteristics of physical aggression and hooliganism by a group of persons.

Law enforcers have already made arrests. after the initial arrest of one person, it became known about the arrest of another suspect. The investigation to find the other participants continues.

In parallel, possible motives for the crime are emerging. According to “Ishkhanutyun” news agency, the reason for the violence is a major financial dispute. The sources claim that Babken Hovakimyan, the director of the “Millon Mining” company engaged in the construction of high-rise buildings in the Kotayk region, and his entourage owe Konjoryan about 65 million drams.

Years ago, the victim worked as a director in the mentioned company and invested personal funds in the business. After leaving the company, however, the money was not returned to him. Long-standing rifts between the former partners have finally led to this difficult milestone. The media has already tried to contact the “Millon Mining” company, from where they promised to come up with an explanation.
