Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said on Thursday that the United States would hold a 74% stake in the proposed TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) Development Company under a strategic cooperation agreement between Armenia and the United States, while Armenia would own the remaining 26%.

Mirzoyan presented the framework agreement to the cabinet, saying the proposed partnership fully respects Armenia’s sovereignty, jurisdiction and territorial integrity.

“The entire process, including the company, its future operations and the agreement as a whole, is carried out in full respect of Armenia’s sovereignty, jurisdiction and territorial integrity,” Mirzoyan said.

Under the agreement, Armenia and the United States would establish the TRIPP Development Company, which would have the authority to create subsidiary companies across Armenia, bring in additional partners, and obtain land-use and development rights under an initial 49-year concession.

During that period, the United States would own 74% of the company’s shares, while Armenia would hold the remaining 26%, Mirzoyan said. The agreement also provides an option to extend the partnership for an additional 50 years, under terms that would increase Armenia’s ownership stake to 49%.

Mirzoyan said Armenia would retain full responsibility for security along the route, including law enforcement, customs administration, border controls and tax collection.

He also defended the proposed “front office” and “back office” management model, describing it as a widely used international practice that has previously been implemented in Armenia.
