Armenia, Albania discuss expanding cooperation in energy sector

Armenia’s Ambassador to Albania Tigran Mkrtchyan (resident in Athens) met with Erlind Sulo, Albania’s Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the energy sector.

According to the Armenian Embassy, Ambassador Mkrtchyan outlined the Armenian government’s priorities in developing nuclear, hydropower, solar, and wind energy, underscoring the importance of energy security as a key component of the country’s national security.

The ambassador proposed organizing reciprocal visits between the relevant authorities of the two countries and exploring the possibility of establishing a bilateral legal framework for cooperation in the energy sector.

Deputy Minister Sulo welcomed the untapped potential for closer cooperation and expressed readiness to promote practical collaboration between the two countries through reciprocal visits, exchange of expertise, and joint projects.

He also expressed interest in visiting Armenia and establishing a partnership with Armenian counterparts.
