The latest meeting of the organising committee established to oversee the organisation and hosting of COP17 in Armenia has been held.
Armenian Environment Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan announced the meeting in a Facebook post.
“Only months remain before the conference begins. We discussed the progress of the preparations and the upcoming tasks, focusing on a number of key organisational areas. We reviewed preparations for the high-level segment and the Leaders’ Summit, the Blue and Green Zones, infrastructure and technical works at the conference venue, ensuring energy supply, the readiness of road and transport infrastructure, as well as healthcare security and the organisation of medical services. The successful hosting of COP17 requires coordinated and consistent work among all the institutions involved. I am confident that, through our joint efforts, we will ensure the organisation and hosting of the conference in line with the highest international standards,” the minister wrote.
