SAN DIEGO — St. Sarkis Armenian Church will host its Annual Gala on Saturday, October 24, at the Cape Rey Hilton, to raise funds for the new hall – the Armenian Community Center – breaking ground this fall.
Under the theme “Gala Esperanza: Gala of Hope,” this year’s fete will feature a cocktail reception, sumptuous dinner and live auction along with professional flamenco dancers as entertainment.
“In its first four vibrant years, St. Sarkis Armenian Church near Del Mar has been growing by leaps and bounds, providing meaningful connection for families through its services and heritage classes in language, faith, music and dance for youth,” said Gala co-chair Viviane Hagopian. “The gala raises essential funds for the building of the new hall, the Armenian Community Center, which will provide even more opportunities for community growth, youth activities and special events.”
Under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church, and Very Rev. Fr. Pakrad Dz. V. Berjekian, Parish Priest of St. Sarkis, the gala is a major annual milestone for the San Diego Armenian community.
Past Galas raised more than $2.2 million for the Bridge to the Future Campaign for the campus, with 200 community leaders and patrons from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego attending annually.
Tickets are $300/person if purchased by October 1. The Cape Rey Hilton is located at 1 Ponto Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92011. For tickets, sponsorships and information, visit the website or email info@stsarkischurchsd.com.
