Yesterday, law enforcement officers conducted a search at the residence of Colonel Edik Maloyan, winner of the “Combat Cross” 1st degree, after which he was arrested. Late in the evening, the issue of his restraining order was to be examined by judge Masis Melkonyan.

The investigative committee reported that the criminal proceedings were initiated against him in connection with the case of publishing information containing state secrets, besides him, there is one more arrested. According to some reports, the soldier who passed the road came under the attention of the law enforcement officers because the woman is related to the leader of the “Strong Armenia” party Samvel Karapetyan and the colonel did not follow the political instructions of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense before the elections. Moreover, it is as if he organized a leak about an internal directive sent to the army.

It is stated in the CC message: “E.M. being the commander of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense, with the rank of colonel, not having the right to get acquainted with the relevant information containing state secrets, the officer in charge of the confidentiality regime of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense, instigating RJ, who has the right to learn the information containing state secrets, to publish information containing state secrets, and then he published the information containing the said state secret obtained by him illegally.”

Maloyan was the commander of Akhpradzor in Vardenis, a brave soldier who has traveled the road and served for many years in the city of Martakert, Artsakh. He participated in the April 44-day wars, in repelling the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh in 2023, he is classified as a “baevoi officer”, after being forcibly deported to Armenia, perhaps that is why he was taken to serve in the Armed Forces, one of the hottest spots.
