Verelq: Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia is a regional partner

The Alliance of Cultural Heritage in Asia is an important platform for regional cooperation, which unites the efforts of Asian states in the directions of cultural heritage preservation, popularization, management and professional capacity development. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, presenting the draft law “On ratifying the charter of the “Cultural Heritage Alliance in Asia” for discussion.


The alliance initiative was launched in 2021. According to the minister, the Republic of Armenia is a founding member of the initiative, which was later joined by other countries besides the founding members.


The Alliance is a platform for cooperation, the purpose of which is to support the development of cultural heritage conservation and utilization capabilities, to promote the deepening of ties between peoples and the transfer of civilizational values.


Zhanna Andreasyan informed that on January 22, 2025, the RA National Assembly ratified the initial version of the alliance’s charter. During the 2nd session of the Council of the organization, the change of the charter of the organization was approved, according to which the status of the structure was changed, turning into an international intergovernmental organization. Therefore, there is a need to reaffirm Armenia’s membership in the bloc.


The keynote speaker noted that the ministry has submitted grant applications to the alliance, and Armenia has already received around 32 million drams of support, “The Silk Road model from a local point of view. “Discovering and maintaining the cultural interdependence of Tallinn and Dashtadem” for the implementation of the project.


The chairman of the committee Sisak Gabrielyan presented the positive conclusion of the NA standing committee on science, education, culture, diaspora, youth and sports issues regarding the project.


The issue was discussed and accepted at the extraordinary session of the National Assembly on July 3.
