AAMS Announces 2026 to 2027 Healthcare Student Scholarship Program

Applications Due September 15

The Armenian American Medical Society announced that applications are being accepted for its 2026 to 2027 Scholarship Program, reaffirming the organization’s longstanding commitment to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Each year, AAMS awards multiple $5,000 scholarships to outstanding students pursuing careers in healthcare. These scholarships are awarded based on academic merit or financial need and are made possible through the generosity of our donors. They are designed to help future healthcare leaders achieve their educational goals while encouraging a lifelong commitment to service and community involvement.

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in an accredited healthcare program in the United States, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, mental health, physician assistant studies, or another healthcare profession. Applicants must also be of Armenian descent or demonstrate a special interest in Armenian-related medical causes and have a record of community service that promotes the health and well-being of others.

“Investing in students is one of the most meaningful ways we can strengthen the future of healthcare,” said Elizabeth Zoryan, RN, BSN, PHN, President of AAMS. “Through our scholarship program, we are proud to recognize and support students who demonstrate academic excellence, compassion, leadership, and a commitment to serving their communities.”

Dr. Evelyn Baghdasraian Barkhoudarian, MD, FAAP, Chair of the AAMS Scholarship Committee, emphasized the importance of recognizing students who exemplify academic excellence and service.

“Through the AAMS Scholarship Program, we are proud to recognize and invest in students who embody academic excellence, leadership, and a passion for serving others,” said Evelyn Baghdasraian Barkhoudarian, MD, FAAP, Chair of the AAMS Scholarship Committee. “We look forward to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals as they prepare to make meaningful contributions to their patients, their communities, and the future of medicine.”
