Avetik Chalabyan was charged with allegedly preparing to obstruct the electoral right of voters (with prior consent by a group of persons and using official powers). Lawyer Varazdat Harutyunyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.

«Avetik Chalabyan did not accept the accusation against him, calling it a “full-on” lie. We cannot address the “actual circumstances” of the case, considering the regime of pre-trial secrecy, but in the future we will have occasion to address their ridiculous and fabricated nature.

At the moment, Avetik Chalabyan is in the “Centre” court, where the motion to detain him will be examined. We will inform about the judge examining the petition and the time as soon as we know,” wrote Harutyunyan.
