The opposition lost time, now it is pointless to appeal to the Supreme Court. Vazgen Manukyan

The statement of the NDM (National Democratic Union) party.

Elections in Armenia have always been falsified, and the extent of the falsification depended on how far the government was from its desired result.

At least two of the 3 leading opposition forces participated in the national elections both as the government and as the opposition, therefore they were well acquainted with those processes. It seemed that those forces, going to the elections separately, would also organize a common front with a unified ideology, involving multipolar political forces, would create unified bodies to monitor the elections, discuss all possible options and be ready for them (the National Assembly presented its proposal to the opposition forces back in November 2025.

All that did not happen. The opposition treated these elections as ordinary elections. While it was necessary to clearly realize that this was not an ordinary electoral process, these elections had a strategic importance for Armenia.

The large-scale repressions, arrests, and other illegal actions by the authorities against the opposition indicated that the current authorities were far from being able to reproduce through elections (the authorities had a maximum of 35-37% of votes). Nikol Pashinyan’s hasty announcement of their “victory” on election night, when the results of a small part of the ballots were still known, was a clear evidence of this. It was not just a statement, it was a mobilization call to his teammates, as well as an order to the relevant bodies to go to the end and ensure the victory of the government. It was also a statement of taking responsibility for all that.

The leaders of the opposition were obliged to take an adequate step at that time, to start a struggle, but instead they found themselves in confusion. In such a situation, time plays a very important role, and that step could significantly affect the subsequent events. Unfortunately, that time was missed.

Now we think that it is pointless to appeal to the Constitutional Court, because the decision of the CC in this situation is known from the beginning. As a result, a court decision legitimizing these elections will appear, which will cause problems in the future.

These elections showed that most of the population of Armenia does not agree with Nikol Pashinyan’s policy. There are hundreds of thousands of people who are ready to fight for their ideas and goals. It inspires hope and enthusiasm that changes in Armenia are inevitable.

The NDU party, as throughout its activity, will continue to fight for its ideas and the problems that are set before Armenia and the Armenian people, until a government is formed in Armenia, which will take upon itself the implementation of those ideas and problems.

Next to the general national goals and objectives, the priority issues at the moment are:
1. The liberation of the Armenian prisoners held in the prisons of Azerbaijan.
2. The return of Artsakh Armenians to their homeland and security.
3. The prevention of the shameful referendum and constitutional changes dictated from outside.
4. Closing the issues of enclaves and settlement of Azerbaijanis in Armenia.
5. The release of persons arrested for political reasons in Armenia and the establishment of rights and freedom within the state.
6. Making all efforts so that Armenia does not become a theater of confrontation between the West and Russia.
