“I am more than convinced that in this election our public voted not for the opposition, but against Pashinyan. The public was ready to reject Nikol, but was not ready to lead that change himself,” commented the political scientist.
In this situation, Melik-Shahnazaryan expects more active steps from the opposition forces and their leaders, stressing that it is necessary to stop reacting to the government’s actions and start making decisions.
Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan absolutely does not like today’s silence of the people. He says that this silence is a bad silence. like the “calm before the storm.” The political scientist records the accumulated dissatisfaction, the growth of dissatisfaction with the government and hopes that this negative energy will not have serious consequences.
According to the political scientist, it is very possible that the repressions of the government will generate a “big explosion” in the society.
“With these moods of the public, this public dissatisfaction and the dangerous silence of the people, which I was talking about a little while ago, I cannot imagine a situation that will continue like this for 5 years. I am sure that there will be an “explosion”, or the people will be broken once and for all, and we will not have a fighting people, and therefore also a state,” added Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan.
Referring to regional developments, the political scientist predicts. “Serious changes await us.”
