Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Civil Contract party’s victory in the June 7 parliamentary elections.

“Your re-election reflects the belief and trust of the people of the Republic of Armenia in your leadership and your vision of a peaceful and progressive nation,” Sharif said in a letter addressed to Pashinyan, according to his office.

“I look forward to working with Your Excellency to strengthen Pakistan–Armenia relations, and I wish to emphasize that Pakistan attaches great importance to peace and constructive cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

We hope that your new term in office will contribute to the advancement of peace, stability, and economic development in the South Caucasus.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
