The RA Ministry of Internal Affairs has not received any report on the use of drugs among minors, despite the many alerts and posts on the subject on social networks. RA Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan told journalists about this in the National Assembly.

It should be noted that a few days ago, the president of “Dzerkd Tur” community development NGO Karine Torosyan alerted that a 12-year-old student of Orgov village secondary school ended up in the hospital after a school excursion, drugs were found in the child’s body. He mentioned that it was a high dose, and the child is in the hospital in a serious condition with memory loss.

“Similar situation is for the first time. We have urged people who make comments or posts about drug trafficking among minors to come forward with crime reports. We received 0 reports,” Sargsyan said.

According to him, various circumstances regarding the incident were discussed, because they went on an excursion and teachers were with them. The minister mentioned that from the beginning there were some hypotheses, but they were denied, and now they should work a little on the situation and continue the process more intensively.

Sargsyan assured that the whole class and the school are in the center of attention in order to understand whether there are other persons involved in this topic. At the moment, law enforcement officers do not have a definitively identified person.

Let’s remind that the 12-year-old student of Arpi Trpanchyan secondary school in Orgov village of Ashtarak community, who allegedly got drugs through sweets, is already fine and has been discharged from the hospital. School director Edgar Chatoyan informed that the excursion took place on May 29, 21 students (5-8th graders) and 7 teachers participated. They went to the nursery of the APT charity company in the village of Karin. The director of the school also informed that the company treated all the children with sweets, as well as lavash, cheese and cucumbers.
