Two of the six parliamentary candidates who ran on the Strong Armenia ticket in the June 7 election and were wanted by law enforcement agencies on suspicion of vote buying have been apprehended and taken into custody.
The Investigative Committee said in a press release that a court granted pre-trial detention for the two suspects.
Arrest warrants for six members of the Strong Armenia bloc were issued on June 6 after the Electoral Commission approved prosecutors’ motion seeking consent to indict them as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering and material inducement of voters.
