Georgia and the United States are working on a renewed agenda for bilateral relations based on mutual respect and consideration of the interests of both countries.

The Georgian service of Sputnik reported this, citing remarks by Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili during her visit to the United States.

According to the Georgian foreign minister, both sides have recently taken important steps aimed at ensuring positive developments in relations between Tbilisi and Washington and opening up new opportunities for cooperation.

“We are working with the United States on the substance of renewed Georgian-American relations and on ways to further develop those ties. We hope that in the near future we will have the opportunity to discuss specific areas of cooperation in greater detail,” Botchorishvili said.

The minister noted that the recent reciprocal visits by the two sides were aimed at advancing dialogue between the two countries.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
