KC As of 15:00, 117 criminal proceedings have been initiated for election violations

From April 2026 to June 7, 2026, as of 15:00, 117 criminal proceedings regarding election crimes were initiated in the divisions of the RA Investigative Committee, within the framework of which public criminal prosecution was initiated against 86 persons.

8 criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 210 of the RA Criminal Code (obstructing the exercise of the right to participate in an election or referendum, the work of election commissions or the exercise of the rights or duties of persons participating in the election or referendum).
45 criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 211 of the RA Criminal Code (forcing to carry out propaganda or refusing to carry out propaganda or otherwise hindering the carrying out of propaganda).
6 criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 214 of the RA Criminal Code (voting more than once or on behalf of another person).
6 criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 215 of the RA Criminal Code (violation of voting secrecy).
41 criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 236 of the RA Criminal Code (obstructing or coercing an assembly or participation in it, as well as taking material interest in order to participate in the assembly or refuse to participate in the assembly).
9 criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 449 of the RA Criminal Code (concealing information that hinders obtaining or maintaining the status of an official).
Under Articles 218 and 219 of the RA Criminal Code (receiving election bribes and giving election bribes), 1 criminal proceeding was initiated.
According to Article 221 of the RA Criminal Code (violating the ban on charity during the referendum or election), 1 criminal proceeding was initiated.


9 out of 117 criminal proceedings were sent to court with indictments against 16 persons.


In all the above mentioned criminal proceedings, many evidentiary and procedural actions were carried out, about 1200 people were interrogated, and about 280 searches were carried out.
