The prosecutor submitted to the court the materials of the criminal proceedings regarding 13 persons who participated in the mass riots in Gyumri and used violence against the police officers. RA Prosecutor’s Office informs about this.
On June 2, 2026, with a confirmed indictment, the Prosecutor submitted to the court the materials of the criminal proceedings regarding 13 persons who participated in the mass riots that took place in the building of the Gyumri Municipality Hall and the adjacent square on October 20, 2025, used violence against the police officers of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, and damaged property.
On May 19, 2026, within the scope of the criminal proceedings under investigation by the Investigative Committee, the prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against 13 persons. Public prosecution against 4 persons was initiated under Article 452, Part 3 of the Criminal Code (using violence to interfere with official official’s official work) and Article 327, Part 1 (participating in mass riots threatening public safety, combined with violence, damage to property), against 8 persons, under Article 46-327, Part 1 (assistance) and in respect of 1 person: 2 of Article 452 (legal service of an official damaging his property in order to interfere with the activity) and parts 1 of Article 46-327.
Let’s remind that on January 21, 2026, the prosecutor, with a confirmed indictment, handed over to the competent court the materials of the criminal proceedings regarding the 4 persons who organized and led the above-mentioned mass riots and violence against the police: Spartak Ghukasyan, Karapet Ghukasyan, Avetis Arakelyan and Artyom Mkrtchyan.
