Cases of acute respiratory infections increased by 14% in one week

According to the weekly analysis of cases with acute respiratory infections hospitalized in “Heratsi” hospital complexes No. 1 and “Muratsan” and Michael Institute of Surgery, during the 14th week of 2026 (30.03.2026-05.04.2026) the number of new cases with severe acute respiratory infections (SRI) was 93, which is 14% has increased compared to the cases of the previous week.


According to “Heratsi” analysis, the new cases with TSSV made up 8.5% of the total hospitalized compared to 7.4% of the previous week. It should be noted that the cases were distributed in 3 age groups. 42% among 0-4 year olds, 56% among 5-14 year olds and 2% in 30-64 age group. Of the total cases, 4 were hospitalized in the intensive care unit, 3 of which were in the 0-4 age group.


During the mentioned period, the number of new cases of STD examined for influenza was 5. No cases of death were recorded among those hospitalized with STD.
