According to the decision of the Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, on January 21, 2026, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the person holding an autonomous position in the Syunik Marz Prosecutor’s Office.

As the Prosecutor’s Office informs, it was confirmed during the proceedings that the prosecutor regularly violated the internal work disciplinary rules, the prosecutor’s rules of conduct and did not fulfill his official duties.

On March 30, 2026, the results of the disciplinary proceedings were presented to the Ethics Commission under the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia.

The Ethics Commission, by its decision of April 1, 2026, confirmed the existence of a disciplinary violation and the guilt of the prosecutor.

According to the decision of the Prosecutor General on April 2, 2026, a disciplinary penalty of “demotion by one degree” was imposed on a person holding an autonomous position in the Prosecutor’s Office of Syunik region.
