Sports: Armenia win first gold at European Weightlifting Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net – Student of Gyumri State College of Olympic Sport Shift Mikayel Cholakyan won Armenia’s first gold at the European Youth Weightlifting Championships on Wednesday, August 10.

Competing in the 49 kg weight category, Cholakyan successfully lifted a total of 182 (81+101) kg above his head and outperformed his Turkish competitors who won the silver and bronze medals.

European Youth Weightlifting Championships will run through August 18.
