On February 13, communities across Armenia marked the festival of Trndez. With pagan origins and known as the feast of purification, it is observed 40 days after the birth of Jesus Christ. On this day, newlyweds receive blessings. Afterwards, a fire is lit over which newlyweds and other members of the community jump.
