Nine athletes will represent Armenian at the World Weightlifting Championships in Pattaya, Thailand from 18 to 27 September.
The Armenian men’s team features Andranik Karapetyan (81 kg), Hakob Mkrtchyan (89 kg), Davit Hovhannisyan (89 kg), Samvel Gasparyan (102 kg), Simon Martirosyan (109 kg), Gor Minasyan (+109 kg) and Ruben Alexanyan (+109 kg), while the women’s team includes Izabella Yaylyan (59 kg) and Tatev Hakobyan (87 kg).
The championship is a qualifying event for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
