Taking into account the public’s interest in the investigation of the criminal case initiated in connection with the operation of the Amulsar gold-bearing quartzite mine and the deliberate concealment of environmental pollution information by officials, we are once again publishing the position of “Lidian Armenia” PB Company regarding the complex examination appointed within the framework of the criminal case.


As reported by the press service of the CC, the company generally accepts the conclusions of the “ELARD” international expert group regarding the lack of impact of the Amulsar Project on various water resources in the area of ​​Lake Sevan and Jermuk.


From the moment of obtaining the subsoil use right, the Company has adopted an active and flexible policy to fully manage the risks of possible impact on the underground and surface waters related to the Amulsar project, while welcoming the fact that the environmental mitigation measures to be applied by the Company have been generally positively evaluated by the international expert group “ELARD”. The Company hereby reaffirms that the potential environmental risks during the project implementation period will be fully controlled by the Company in accordance with the previously submitted plans. The company undertakes that untreated contact water from the mine area will not be released into the environment.
