First President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan was questioned at the Special Investigation Service as a witness over the criminal case investigating the circumstances behind the March 1-2, 2008 post-election crackdown in Yerevan. The press department at the SIS neither confirmed nor denied to Panorama.am the reports circulated by media.

“We are not commenting on the matter,” the representative at SIS told.

To remind, earlier the SIS neither confirmed nor denied reports about summoning former President Serzh Sargsyan.

To remind, second President Robert Kocharyan and former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov were charged over breaching the constitutional order of Armenia in the scope of the same criminal case. Khachaurov was released on bail, while Robert Kocharyan is in detention.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
