Armenia “continues working in direction of acquiring” SU-SM30 fighter aircraft

YEREVAN, JANUARY 30, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is working in the direction of purchasing Russian SU-30SM multi-role fighter aircraft, defense ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan told ARMENPRESS.

“Yes, we are working in this direction, but I won’t [disclose] anything specific,” Hovhannisyan said.

When asked to specify whether or not the aircraft have been purchased already, Hovhannisyan said : “Purchasing will happen when the [fighter aircraft] will be in Armenia and will be displayed”.

Earlier unconfirmed media reports said that the acquisition process of the SU-30SMs has been completed.
