Pashinyan will meet with the parents of Karen Ghazaryan, captured in Azerbaijan

Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan will meet with the parents of Karen Ghazaryan, who was captured in Azerbaijan, on November 28. According to “Armenpress”, Pashinyan said this during the pre-election rally of “My step” party alliance in Noyemberyan city.

“Today I have to meet Karen Ghazaryan’s parents at the municipality. My wife also visited them twice. Azerbaijan made a semi-official offer to exchange 3 Azerbaijanis in Artsakh with 3 Armenians in Azerbaijan. But in Artsakh, 2 citizens of Azerbaijan have been sentenced to 20 years, the other to life imprisonment, because they killed citizens of Artsakh. Now the question is: will the relatives of those murdered citizens agree that Artsakh returns those who killed their children to Azerbaijan? It is clear that Azerbaijan will create new Ramil Safarovs from those criminals. Do we want to bear the political and practical consequences of this? A young man was confused by Turkey and crossed the border, and we sent him to his country without preconditions. It would be logical for them to return Karen in the same way. We dealt with the Karen issue and we are also dealing with the channel obtained by the Dushanbe agreement. It is a simple, humanitarian issue, and we will make every effort to reach a solution to this issue,” said Pashinyan.

Nikol Pashinyan mentioned that there is a hypothesis that Karen was kidnapped from her house.

“People have fears and questions about the level of border protection. There is doubt, of course, that Karen was abducted from her home, but there is no proof yet. I will definitely discuss this issue once again with the representatives of our armed forces. If it is necessary to take measures, we will take them,” he said.

Karen Ghazaryan, a resident of Berdavan community, in 2018. He has been captured since July 15 and is in Azerbaijan.
