Armenia is an interesting place to invest. President of RA

On November 28, President Armen Sarkissian, who is in the Federal Republic of Germany on an official visit, had a working breakfast with the heads of a number of leading German companies that operate in Armenia or are interested in cooperation with Armenia. The meeting was organized by the RA Embassy in Germany, OWC Publishing House, the Eastern Commission of the German Economy and “Eastern Europe. by the Union of Small and Medium Businessmen.

Heads of “Zepelin”, “Siemens”, SAP, “Nokia”, “Schneider Group”, “Airbus Group” and other companies took part in the meeting.

Noting that a number of companies with the participation of German capital are successfully operating in various sectors of Armenia’s economy, President Sargsyan at the same time expressed his belief that there is still a great potential to expand these sectors and deepen cooperation.

Noting that the 21st century is a period of rapid changes, the president of the republic said that Armenia is the right country, which is in the right place at the right time. “It’s the right time because we live in the beginning of the 21st century. This is a time when everything is changing very quickly. It’s no secret that I recently finished my book called The Quantum Behavior of Global Risks. By quantum I do not mean that the rules of quantum mechanics can be applied. Quantum implies that this behavior is no longer classical. Change in the 21st century is dynamic, rapid and dramatic. The means by which it is possible to manage and describe risks in the 21st century are not and will not be classical. From this point of view, it is the right time for Armenia,” said President Sargsyan, noting that humanity is living in a period of rapid evolution, where every year everything changes much faster.

The President of the Republic said that Armenia has been at the crossroads of civilizations for thousands of years. “That intersection can become a bridge today, because today Armenia is the only country that is a member of EAEU, which implies that the country has not 3 million, but more than 200 million people, which includes Central Asia, Russia. In addition, Armenia has signed a deep and comprehensive agreement with the European Union, and we want to deepen relations with that body. In other words, Armenia is the only country that has deep relations with both the East and the West. Our country is in the right place,” Armen Sargsyan emphasized.

The President of the Republic presented to the businessmen the priority directions of the Armenian economy, investment attractiveness and business environment, competitive advantages of doing business in Armenia. “Armenia is an interesting place to invest. The country has great potential in various fields, from agriculture to light industry, banking and information technologies,” President Sargsyan said.

The heads of the companies operating in Armenia spoke about their current projects and the possibilities of their expansion.

President Sargsyan suggested to the other businessmen participating in the meeting to visit Armenia to study and discuss prospective directions of mutually beneficial cooperation.
